Half awake and half asleep in the water es una serie de fotografías de Asako Narahashi (楢橋朝子) 2002-2003. Esta serie acuática transmite un intenso desasosiego, la artista japonesa explica en diversos trabajos su relación traumática con el agua y saca a la luz sus miedos tirando las fotos mientras nada (estas fotos, según explica la artista, han sido tomadas a duras penas).
I am not a very good swimmer. And I am rather uncomfortable in the water. I cannot escape a sense of fear. Even if I decide that I want to take a photograph from there (within the water), there are times when I just can't do it. And I cannot freely create any distance. I want to be open to all sorts of things and I decided to remain uncomfortable.
